BLACK CHOCOLATE STOUT - 10% - Brooklyn Brewery, U.S.A - (Bottle)

beeryweirdo says . . . this stout is brewed only once a year (for winter), and what a treat it is. Six varieties of black, chocolate and roasted malts are used to create a most uplifting and luxurious drink. When poured, the creamy copper tinged head retains its structure atop the most oily brew I've ever seen. It's flavours are so well balanced they hide its strength. Warming, chocolate and coffee notes are followed by a long bitter and molasses finish. Simply one of the best, definitely one of my desert island beers.

ORGANIC STOUT - 4.5% - Hawkshead Brewery, U.K. - (Bottle)

beeryweirdo says . . . now this is good. An organic oatmeal stout. Very well balanced, creamy and full of flavour. Deep chocolate and liquorice flavours and a long bitter finish. Warming, earthy and full coffee notes. It' vegan too (although I'd prefer mine with oysters). Top job.

OYSTER STOUT - 4.5% - Marstons Brewery, U.K. - (Bottle)

beeryweirdo says . . . fruity and a little fizzy from the bottle. A fairly simple flavour, nothing lasting or complex. It's let down by really lacking in body and being decidedly uncreamy. That said, the flavours that are present are pleasant. Hints of liquorice and coffee. Comes across more like a dark mild to me. Not bad, just not amazing. Might try cooking mussels in it.

NIGHTSHADE - 4.9% - Wharfebank Brewery, U.K. - (Bottle)

beeryweirdo says . . . Enjoyed the Nightshade at the wonderful Arcadia Bar in Headingley, Leeds, U.K today. A luxurious mahogany brown ale. Warming and full bodied with a huge flavour to match. Clean and crisp, hoppy with a complex dry, roasted malt finish. A brilliant fireside ale, very nice indeed - deadly!

PROFANITY STOUT - 7% - Williams Brewery, U.K. - (Bottle)

beeryweirdo says . . . Well well well, this is a beauty. Regular readers will know I am a big fan of Williams Bros Brewery. Luxurious texture, coffee and slight vanilla notes, thick creamy and a little fruity. Wonderful deep roasted finish, long and slightly smoky. Could drink this all day! One of my favourite stouts. Ain't no messin' with this little fella!

CHOCOLATE STOUT - 4.2% - Mallinsons Brewery, U.K. - (Bottle)

beeryweirdo says . . . Absolutely excellent chocolate stout. Bottle conditioned for that extra fresh punch. Superb complex mocha notes and a hint of vanilla. Velvety and thick with a lovely roasted finish. Definitely Recommended, my favourite Mallinsons so far.
